The fabric was naturally dyed using Alkanet Root, Lac, Cutch, Cochineal, Madder, Osage Orange Tree Wood, Japanese Maple Leaves, Henna and Avocado Pits.

“Sunrise” Quilt. 38 x 50 inches. 2022. 

Machine-pieced, hand-quilted, hand-dyed and was finished with a hand-stitched binding. Every single color was individually hand-dyed using Alkanet Root, Lac, Cutch, Cochineal, Madder Root, Maple Leaves, Henna, Osage Orange Tree Bark, Logwood and Avocado Pits. Minimum of 4 baths for each color (Scour, Tannin, Mordant and Dye), with darker muted colors using an additional iron bath.

100% cotton fabric, batting and thread. Hanging sleeve attached on the back, can be hung as an art piece or used as a throw blanket. As with all fiber art pieces, avoid hanging in direct sunlight. Machine-wash cold/tumble dry.
